“Reflections of Ireland” Returns!

Ed McBride’s “Reflections of Ireland” returns to the airwaves, Sunday, March 9th from 5-7pm on 91.1 WHFC!

For more than two decades, Baltimore’s Irish music aficionados tuned in to “Reflections of Ireland” and host Ed McBride for their weekly fill of jigs, reels and classic Irish ballads.

Mr. Ed McBride, a native of Derry, Northern Ireland, came to the United States in 1958 at the age of 20. He first worked in radio at WITH, then took his program to WTOW, WFEL and then to WTMD where “Reflections of Ireland” aired for 21 years, gaining a massive and loyal following. Ending its run in November, 2006, “Reflections of Ireland” has been silent for 14 months.

But Ed will be silent no longer. Now his loyal listeners – and an entire crop of new fans – can rejoice, because “Reflections of Ireland” is back on the air! Beginning March 9th, “Reflections of Ireland” will air Sundays from 5-7pm on WHFC 91.1 FM, Harford Community Radio.

The show joins WHFC’s diverse and engaging lineup, including flagship Celtic program, “The Pub,” hosted by Belfast-born Tim O’Neill, Mondays from 6-9pm, and the nationally-syndicated “Celtic Connections,” Sundays at 4pm.

Those outside of WHFC’s coverage area can listen to “Reflections of Ireland” and “The Pub” online at www.whfc911.org. Anyone who wishes to make a donation in support of Ed McBride’s “Reflections of Ireland” and the station’s Irish programming can do so by sending a check or money order (made out to WHFC) to WHFC 91-1 FM, 401 Thomas Run Rd., Bel Air, MD 21015.
